Ms Eunice Namirembe

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Eunice Gnay Namirembe is the overall winner of the recent Google Africa Connected competition. She runs The Medical Concierge Group which helps Ugandan communities access quality healthcare and information. She has built a 24-hour ambulance call centre by using the Google Cloud console and Google Maps to record patient information and track patient locations. With these tools, Eunice and her team are able to help connect more Ugandans to medical services, thus saving lives in the process.

Eunice is also the Country Director, Uganda at Text to Change a mobile for development organization. She holds a Bachelors degree in Economics and Statistics from Makerere University and has over 8 years of experience in formulating and implementing ICT for Development programs in Uganda and Africa. Her designation at Text to Change has propelled in her into designing and implementing mobile for development programs around Africa. – Mobile being new media that is being explored and used extensively for development. Eunice has also presented at global forums around the world on using mobile as new and now popular media for health including behavioural change, education, accountability and governance. She is a new media enthusiast and her passion lies in using it to change lives and create positive social change in communities.
