IST Africa Conference to take place at Munyonyo PDF Print E-mail

 The Government of the Republic of Uganda (GOU) through the Ministry of Information Communication and Technology (ICT) is hosting the 4th Annual Information Society Technologies (IST) - Africa Conferences scheduled to take place at Speke Resort Munyonyo from the 6th to 8th May 2009. 

IST Africa is a collaborative initiative of the International Information Management Corporation (IIMC), the Ministry of Communications Science and Technology (Botswana), the Ministry of Communications Science and Technology (Lesotho), Commonwealth Network of Information for Technology Development (Malta), ICT Policy Implementation Unit (Mozambique), Ministry of Education (Namibia), Wits Commercial Enterprise Ltd (South Africa), Commission for Science and Technology (Tanzania) and Uganda National Council of Science and Technology. 

IST Africa focuses on raising wider awareness of African research capapcity, promoting participation of African Organisations in ICT and identifying cooperation opportunities in the fields of mutual interests.

As the host of the government of the conference there is a need to collaborate with key stakeholders in the ICT sector to popularise this event and encourage local international participation.
