Since all SIM cards were registered, won’t that help track the conman?

Response: Conman’s number suspended.

Response : Suspending is no good because it’s easy to get another SIM card ! Blacklist number , publish and attach photo of owner.

Conclusion/ Remarks

Conman got number and contacts from Facebook account of victim.

Call beneficiary and ask a few pertinent questions before sending the money.

Telcos should have a name showing alongside the number of mobile money recipient and all unregistered recipients should produce valid ID e.g passport or driving permit.

In the same situation last year, I was told by the telcom to go report to the police !

Conclusion/ Remarks

If you want prompt help, use their online(social media ) channels.

If you have a  company’s account manager at Airtel s/he should follow this up.
