July 2007, is widely seen as the start of the current global financial crisis. Here in Uganda, we are now talking about the third wave of the crisis and how this is likely to affect us. IMF and World Bank have all forecasted economic slowdown and growth for Sub Saharan Africa.

This month, the Private Sector Foundation of Uganda announced that service providers, importers and exporters are to be equipped with skills to enable them survive the credit crunch. The foundation shall carry out two-day survival skill’s training workshop will be held at Lugogo from June 24-25 and over 3000 importers and exporters are expected to attend. The trade sector is not the only sector that has been or shall be affected by the financial crisis.

Todate, we have not seen any local big fallouts from the ICT sector with the exception of GTV pay TV but we would like to know from the ICT sector, how is the financial crisis affecting you?
