EDITORIAL Q2 2009 newsletter PDF Print E-mail

We take it further from the last issue. From a consumers lobby group to tackling a serious problem in our midst of consumer-to-consumer crime in the IT sector. Many conmen are coming up defraud consumers using IT tools and using big company names like Heritage Oil or Kasese Cobalt Mining Company.

Police says e-crimes are going up mainly committed by IT consumers and because there is limited expertise in police to handle them the figures will continue rising.

This calls for training in police, already some of them are being trained in Cairo, Egypt but the IT community especially you our readers should be careful especially if you are using public computers in Internet cafes.

Enjoy your reading.
