In this age, everyone owns a smartphone. This leaves many manufacturers wanting to innovate new stuff on the phone that will force you to need and depend on it. The possibilities are endless with the app stores providing all sorts of applications that will make your life simple.

These devices literary tie you down to one place because they have all that you need. All you have to do is to have a smartphone fully charged and loaded with data or WIFI for you to do everything from one place.

Social Media

The different media sites from Facebook, twitter, whatsapp etc are common ways that people keep in touch with one another. Skype is an application that allows you to make face to face calls. Are you late for a meeting, are you a parent that has travelled and want to say goodnight to your little ones? This application will allow you to do this from whatever distance and at a cheap cost even if it’s abroad.

Write Documents

You can write your documents on your smartphone if you have downloaded word possessor apps such as Fiowriter, IAwriter, Smartoffice etc You can also print or send via email to recipients.

These help you organise your work and schedules for meetings. They remind you of birthdays, anniversaries and appointments, with a set alarm going off at the saved time.

Global Positioning System (GPS)

This will give you directions to any place and help you navigate there. The same with  Google Maps, that will help you find the location of any place as well as the time and distance to that place from your location.

Storage

When you need a place to store stuff,  use your smartphone. Save directly to it or use an app for more space to save more files. Applications like Dropbox, Fluxion, Evershare, Mega, ADrive all serve this purpose.

Watch videos and movies

You can download videos, music, and watch them from the comfort of your home or when you are on the road. Use sites like Youtube, tubemate, Netflix, MP3 skull and waptrick. You can also stream live television and radio stations.

Games.

The smartphone is an amusement park of games like Candy Crush, Angry Birds which will keep you entertained for hours on end.

Create a photo album and videos.

There is no use going to a photo studio anymore unless it is for formal pictures like on weddings, graduation and for family portraits.  Apps like instagram, Beauty plus, Photo Grid, will ably help you do this. You can even print them out to make a tangible album

Business Transactions

You can buy or sell goods and services online as well as advertise on sites like Ebay, OLX, Amazon etc. Here you can have your goods also delivered to you.

Do you want to know if it will rain tomorrow so as to dress appropriately? Are you in Church or Mosque but forgot to carry your bible or Quran? There are apps on your smarphone to help you with all this.
