THE first digital agricultural platform, the Electronic-Agricultural Research Network, that aims at improving the livelihoods of Africa’s small-scale farmers has been launched. The electronic platform was launched by Makerere University’s Faculty of Social Sciences and the University of Nairobi in conjunction with Canada’s International Development Research Centre. “The commencement of this study is timely. It marks a milestone in our quest to provide the much-needed empirical evidence to guide policy decisions and investment choices in making markets work for our farmers,” Edith Adera, IDRC senior programme specialist, said.
