KIC is focused on training and sensitising variouse members of thecommunity in computer literacy so as to cause development within the region. It therefore provides Internet services and computer classes at an affordable rate to the community at large.

KIC started in 2004 as a project under the Rural Communications Development Fund of the Uganda Communications Commission whose aim is to extend services mentioned above to the under privileged areas of Uganda such as Kalangala District.

The center is the only Information hub in the region and thus seeks to provide the community with as much information as it possibly can and information that would be useful to the community at large.
