1. Developers in the Mobile Money space Initiated by Alex Kisakye

For those developing payment systems around mobile money, PesaPI is a good project to start.

“…’PesaPI is an open source API for mobile money systems, released under the BSD (lite) license.

Using PesaPI you can save considerable time and effort when integrating mobile money systems into your application, making it easy for your application to detect when a payment has been received’…”

“This API has done some miracles for some of us.”

“Airtel support and MTN commercial line support still lacking though.”

Conclusion/ Remarks

“Only MTN private line support in Uganda is available but it's really a must have API.”

2. Pay-Way Machine Initiated by Wahabu Kyewalyanga

Machine needed.

“I have sent you an email about the Interswitch POS machines option that has more services and way affordable.”

“From a technical perspective, I do not think that machine needs a lot of bandwidth to operate though. It's more like an ordinary POS terminal; it only needs to send data to an API, which data may be under a KB for each request. So it should work pretty well with EDGE technology

“[The internet in Kasambya is slow.]”

Conclusion/ Remarks

“I feel it’s high time I added that [Pay-Way] service at our Computer centre… I find it easier and I get a receipt for my records.

“Visit the website on: http://www.payway.ug/

“The actual machine might work well and better in Kasambya [because of slow internet]. But of course the online solution is far way much better where no physical terminals/machines are possible ...”
