My Revision Guide: an app that makes revision fun! PDF Print E-mail

By Pamela Kiria, I-Network.

Two 3rd year Computer Science students from Makerere University have developed a mobile application to help students revise. “My Revision Guideapp developed by Fredrick Bisaso and Yasin Sekabira, winners of the 2012 Community Innovations Awards organized by Orange; intends to make learning and revision fun. It is in form of a game which poses random question on various topics ranging from English, math, chemistry, biology and social studies among other subjects. It mainly targets primary and O’level students. The application software is supported by smartphones and other mobile devices, and can be downloaded and installed on a PC. It may also be accessed through ones gmail or facebook account. The app also has a “wall of fame” where the top 10 best performing students and schools are listed which encourages competition.

One of the reviews by Fredie (a user) states, “You don’t have to hassle with question banks, the app solves it all.”

This is yet another great innovation with the potential to boost performance among students as it is a fun and exciting way to learn.
