Knowledge Sharing is all about linking people, ideas and organizations to enable information exchange and networking activities. this can be done through focused group meetings, seminars, physical and online publications, research etc.

I-Network Knowledge

sharing activities include the health, education, private sector and media participation as well as other key developmental aspects such as agriculture. these in the passed have been carried out through public debates, topical and regular seminars, online discussion group list to mention but a few. Knowledge Sharing does play a central role in catalyzing change through sharing success stories, lessons learned and new initiatives that are facilitated by ICTs.

 

 

 

Brief of Key Knowledge sharing sectors within the network

IICD Project Partners

This is a unique sector that brings together all IICD project partners to network and improve their initiatives through exchange of ideas and plans. It also facilitates resources optimisation through out the IICD projects in Uganda. Through identifying common constraints for which joint solutions are sought and hence contributing to sustainability of the projects.

Since the inception of the Projects Node in February 2005, the Node has been actively involved in addressing common issues and challenges faced by IICD projects. Some of the issues include: adoption of open source software, Internet connectivity, marketing of project services, procurement of ICT services and equipment, project sustainability, among others.

Education Sector
This sector is focused on ICT in Education and does this through creting links with students and teachers through holiday camps, teachers Trainings, schools debates and online discussions click to see documentation

The Private Sector
The private sector on the other hand has a focus that is purely described by its name, it has a rich collection of knowledge, skills and experiences from the private sector companies, consultants and experts through multi-stakeholder panel discussions. Experts share researched information on the benefits of various technical solutions available in Uganda with the aim of facilitating ICT adoption. Read more

The Media
The Media being a key communication channel was found to be a major information dissemination partner in promoting ICTs. The media activities within the network include mainly the Uganda ICT journalism awards (UICTJA), the I-Network newsletter and many more. you can read more information here
