TTC, GIZ and the Ugandan Ministry sign partnership agreement on creating water & sanitation awareness via SMS PDF Print E-mail

A contract to set up several awareness campaigns on water, sanitation and HIV/AIDS in Uganda in collaboration with the respective Ministry of Water and Environment, has been signed by Text to Change (TTC) and the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), which implements development cooperation programmes on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

TTC will use SMS, radio and their call centre for this programme which will target 30,000 people in Acholi, Lango and West Nile sub-regions. The three sub-regions are under the mandate of the MWE’s Water and Sanitation Development Facility – North (WSDF-N), which is the mechanism for public service delivery and funding for water and sanitation investments in small towns and rural growth centres in Northern Uganda. The campaign will run for six months.
